In recent weeks, it’s been reported that a series of Marks & Spencer billboard and bus stop adverts have been censured for being too ‘provocative’.
The adverts were among 8,000 over the past three years that received complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority because of the negative effects they may have on children.
In particular, the advert “Perfect Fits” (replete with a close-up shot of an M&S model’s boobs in a bra) was criticised for being a bit too suggestive.

I’m not entirely sure if this is just political correctness gone …

The Daily Star newspaper has posted up a lengthy Christmas lingerie gift buyer’s guide for men, not unlike the one we posted here last week on Brastop.
Journalist Richard Peppiatt took along model Daisy Watts to make sure he was on the right track, and the results are fairly amusing.

Treacle, the girl who writes the Lingerie Addict blog, posted an interesting item today, in which she recounted responses on Facebook and Twitter to the question “What’s the 1 Thing You Want to Tell the Lingerie Industry?“.
The responses varied from big-busted women wanting better support, or sexier bras, education about sizing/fitting and smaller back sizes in bigger cupped bras.
Overwhelmingly, based on the responses Treacle published, it seems that bigger-busted women are somewhat underserved by the lingerie industry (but we already knew this).

According to USA Today, sales of bras (one bra in particular) has proven to be a good indicator of a rise in economic trends.
Sales of the Victoria’s Secret ‘Miraculous’ bra indicate that if women are prepared to buy such a high-priced bra for themselves, they’re probably willing to buy other things for themselves, too – which is a shift from the last two years, when shoppers mostly bought gifts for others.

I meant to post about tihs last week after hearing about proposals by Warner Bros. Entertainment to trademark “Quidditch lingerie” among other Quidditch-related names and product ideas.
