Krisline Queen Body

Okay, so the Krisline Queen body isn’t exactly a bra, but it’s still my bra of the week here at the Brastop Blog.

I think I’ve said before here on the blog that in the dim and distant past, I was once a big fan of bodies. I owned a Marks & Spencer black body a long time ago, and it ended up in tatters because I wore it so often (one of the cups lost its underwire – and I STILL wore it, it was so comfortable). I also have a Fantasie Ivory Rose in black somewhere in my underwear drawer that I haven’t worn in years (probably because it’s a 36E and no longer fits me properly), which was also a firm favourite for a while.

It’s only been in recent months that I’ve taken a notion for bodies again, when I received the Panache Smooth Underwired Body in black with suspenders (which I’ll do a review of when Brastop gets more back in stock), but I was also given some lingerie sets recently as a gift, and was pleasantly surprised to find the Krisline Queen Body in white among them.

Bodies are very much an acquired taste – and they’re not for everyone, for a number of reasons; the gusset fastening, the all-in-one uniqueness of them, and, while they can provide great shape – they can also be restrictive at times. The important thing to remember is that they’re not bras – they have a combined function of acting as contour/shapewear, but also as a comfort garment.

However, the Krisline Queen body seems to cover a lot of the bases. The one thing I instantly found was that it was very tight around the waist and thighs – it was mildly difficult to pull on, but once it was on, it was fine. I was given a 34FF because my normal size of 30FF wasn’t available, which I thought might be a problem (the cups look really big compared to my other bras), but it wasn’t as bad as I had expected. In fact, the cups are relatively snug – which, I think, comes down to the fact that Krisline tend to come in tight on the band and cup anyway (it’s always wise to choose a bigger cup size or a bigger band size in Krisline bras anyway). To help with this, it has a built-in bra setup, which makes it easier to adjust – with three rows of three hooks-and-eyes for back fastening – so it pretty much works like a bra anyway – and also features wide, adjustable straps, firm double-lined underwired cups, topped off with a beautiful open lace pattern.

The body itself is made up of contoured, reinforced panels for more shape and comfort, with strong elastic around the legs, which I think contributes to the really tight feeling around the thigh area.

The whole thing is finished off with four cute little bow-decorated suspenders – which are very short (I prefer short suspenders to the really long ones that often come with bodies or basques),and another little bow in the centre gore (the bows don’t seem to show in the model pic).

As I mentioned before, it also has hook-and-eye fastening at the gusset, which can make for a tricky time on a night out if you’ve had a few glasses of wine.

There’s a “bedroom wear” element to these types of body, but there’s also a practical element – combining the support of a full-function bra with an overall body, and cute little suspenders to top it all off. In all, it’s a well-made, smooth and pretty body (if a bit plain all around), albeit a little restrictive and tight – which is to be expected from Krisline.

I’m not sure it’s something I’ll wear on a daily basis, but I’ll try it out under a slim-fitting dress as it definitely provides fantastic curves and a slimming shape.

The Krisline Queen Body is currently available at Brastop for £23.95 and is available in black, white or ivory.
